Trinidad and Tobago is ready for the Porsche TAG Heuer eSports Sprint Trophy Latin America
POS/Trinidad and Tobago. Garvin Daniel has been preparing for the last two weeks for the Porsche TAG Heuer eSports Sprint Trophy Latin America that will take place this Saturday, June 27th at seven (7pm) in the afternoon, with a live broadcast on the site PorscheVirtualRacing.com."I’m looking forward to the race this Saturday and I’m aiming to get a podium place for Trinidad and Tobago," said Daniel. “My greatest accomplishment for 2020 was winning the GT Planet ARL (American Racing League) Season 5 and then I went on to compete in a local tournament held by TTASA (Trinidad and Tobago Automobile Sports Association) where I was victorious after four (4) days of competition. 2020 has been a good year for me and the eSport community. Just a few months ago I was invited, and accepted, to join an international eSport team ‘Eclipse Racing eSport’.”
This 38-year-old gamer’s passion for virtual racing only ignited in 2017 with the release of Gran Turismo Sport for Play Station 4. Once he made his purchase and started to get more involved in the game there was no stopping his appetite to compete on an international forum. The upcoming Porsche TAG Heuer is the first race Daniel will be participating on the Le Mans track and has expressed he is very confidant. Daniel stated that it’s a humbling experience to be competing against some of our regions more established eSport racers.
“My dream is to get first place in the Porsche TAG Heuer eSports Sprint Trophy Latin America so we can win the US$5,000 grand prize which will go to assisting the REACH Foundation, a local non-profit organization with the aim to improve the quality of life for our ageing population and at-risk adults.”
The Porsche TAG Heuer eSports Sprint Trophy Latin America will be contested on the same circuit where the 24 Hours of Le Mans is held annually. The 14 drivers will make 12 laps at 13 kilometres and 626 meters of the Circuit de la Sarthe with their Porsche 911 RSR.
"The responsiveness you can achieve with the Porsche 911 RSR in the Gran Turismo game is mind blowing," said Daniel, who competes under the Lifestyle Motors gamertag with the 88th car. "It's a car with surprising stability and great power. It offers a higher level of performance when you hit the track.”
The Porsche TAG Heuer eSports Sprint Trophy Latin America will present US$9,000 in prizes (US$5,000 to the winner, US$3,000 to second place and US$1,000 to third place). The money will be donated to the REACH Foundation, a local non-profit organization paving the way for the vulnerable elderly communities in our society to reach a higher quality of life and contribute towards a healthy communal living.
