Resilience and innovation continue to be the core of our Porsche team.

Porsche Centre Trinidad − 2020 in review

Port of Spain. We are at that time of the year when we all take a step back and look at our accomplishments for the year as it is about to end. 2020 was a special year − we all came together worldwide to battle and cope with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Porsche Centre team can safely say we grew stronger from the experiences 2020 brought to our doorsteps. We found strength not only in our coworkers but also in our customers.

During the stay-at-home orders by our Government here in Trinidad and Tobago, we want to let our customers know our team was hard at work. “We were busy training with our Porsche Latin America office via online classrooms on the programmes required for us to effectively conduct our jobs, as well as technical refresher courses to keep our team sharp and ready to serve our customers,” said Nicholas McDonald, Commercial and Business Development Manager of Lifestyle Motors, exclusive importer of Porsche to Trinidad and Tobago.

The team also received guidance on how to prepare the workshop, service area and sales showroom for customers in preparation to return to business. As the buildings were unoccupied, it was easy for professional contractors to come in and fully sanitize all locations. The Porsche team also installed the required sized sneeze-guards to keep both customers and the Porsche team safe, as well as sanitization stations before entering the building. Each workstation was also supplied with hand sanitizer and persons were coached on how to greet customers and to wear their masks when talking with no protection barrier. Management also outlined the required steps for customers to enter the building to make sure they were of good health- temperature checks and contact tracing information.

The Porsche After Sales set out to regain the trust and confidence of our customers as they returned to work communicating with customers to make sure they felt safe and secure to come in and have their vehicles serviced. All Porsche owners were rest assured that their vehicles were sanitized before delivery which also included sanitizing the key on return. Monthly special offers were planned for our customers along with Porsche Drivers Select thank you gifts.

One of the biggest announcements Porsche provided to its owners globally was a further extension on their Porsche Approved Warranty from their standard 10 years to 15 years. “This astounding announcement was highly appreciated by Porsche owners − it is a true testament on just how much faith Porsche has in their product,” said Carla George, Porsche After Sales Manager.

The Porsche Sales team was also busy reaching out to existing and future customers. They were excited to let everyone know what Porsche vehicles were in stock and ready for them to come in and experience. Customers visiting the centre were assigned scheduled appointments, so they felt safe and comfortable when visiting the showroom. All protocols for safety continue to be maintained which includes sanitization of touch points when a customer has completed a vehicle viewing. The Porsche team also conducted virtual visits to our showroom via whatsapp and zoom video calls. Nothing will be the same anymore − technology is now our best friend.

“The ‘new normal’ has become part of our daily routine and we have adapted to make sure our customers feel secure with the Porsche brand,” said Avinash Rampersad, Porsche Executive Director. “Our team is much stronger coming out of our experiences from COVID-19. We can comfortably say we can face any challenge that comes our way- together.”
