Karolina Pliskova topping the Stuttgart statistics
Stuttgart. Taking a look at the superlatives revolving around the field at the 46th Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, the name that crops up most often is that of Karolina Pliskova. Now appearing in Stuttgart for the seventh time in succession, the 31-year-old Czech and the long-standing tournament have a close bond.The youngest: The ranking is headed by the American Coco Gauff. The world No. 6 celebrated her 19th birthday on 13 March. The second youngest is the 20-year-old Porsche Brand Ambassador Emma Raducanu.
The tallest: Karolina Pliskova, the 2018 Stuttgart winner, is 1.86 metres tall.
The smallest: The Italian Martina Trevisan measures 1.60 metres and is therefore the smallest main draw player.
The most Grand Slam wins: Topping this ranking is the title-holder Iga Swiatek: having won the titles as the 2020 and 2022 French Opens and the 2022 US Open, the world No. 1 from Poland has chalked up the most Grand Slam wins of all the players at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Behind her are five players each with a single success at one of the four most important events on the tournament calendar – Aryna Sabalenka (2023 Australian Open), Elena Rybakina (2022 Wimbledon), Emma Raducanu (2021 US Open), Barbora Krejcikova (2021 French Open) and Jelena Ostapenko (2017 French Open).
Most appearances at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix: This statistic is led by Karolina Pliskova. The Czech is contesting the long-standing Stuttgart tournament for the seventh time – and that without a break.
Most successes at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix: Now that the Czech Petra Kvitova, the 2019 winner, has had to withdraw with injury, last year’s winner Iga Swiatek and Karolina Pliskova (2018) are the only players to have won a title in the Porsche Arena.
Most WTA wins in total: Karolina Pliskova has amassed 16 singles titles.
Most WTA titles in 2023: Aryna Sabalenka has been successful on two occasions this year. She won the WTA event in Adelaide and at the Australian Open in Melbourne. Coco Gauff (Auckland), Alycia Parks (Lyon), Anastasia Potapova (Linz), Iga Swiatek (Doha), Barbora Krejcikova (Dubai), Donna Vekic (Monterrey), Elena Rybakina (Indian Wells), Ons Jabeur (Charleston) and Tatjana Maria (Bogota) have also all won titles on the 2023 WTA Tour.
Most career prize money: Karolina Pliskova has earned a total of 24,940,592 dollars during the course of her career – one better than Iga Swiatek with 16,096,505 dollars.
Most prize money this year: The Kazakh Elena Rybakina, who recently first reached the Australian Open final and then won the Indian Wells tournament, has already amassed prize money totalling 3,178,819 dollars in 2023. The Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka is hot on her heels with 3,118,046 dollars.
Most weeks as the world No. 1: Iga Swiatek topped the world rankings for the first time on 4 April 2022, and has remained out in front – for a total of 54 weeks. Of all the players at this year’s Porsche Grand Prix, she has been top of the tree for longest. One behind her in second is Karolina Pliskova, who was No. 1 for eight weeks.
The total number of singles and doubles players: A total of 55 players are competing at this year’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
